Sapporo Japanese Restaurant Opens

Sapporo Japanese Restaurant is located 437 George St North at Brock St. The new restaurant features a full 150 item menu, plus a sushi bar. They are open daily from 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for lunch and from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. for Dinner, seven days a week. Call 536-3388 for more information.

House Cleaning Business Expands Services

Lockside Trading Company 20th anniversary

Congratulations to Lockside Trading Company in Young’s Point on winning one of two Retailer of Distinction Awards from the Canadian Gift and Tableware Association. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year the 7000 square foot destination store entertains 60,000 customers each year, with furniture, clothing, gifts, cappuccino and ice cream, and their famous hospitality. The store was judged on visual mer4chandising, and store design, business achievements, advertising and public relations, community involvement, innovation and originality. Congratulations to Sue Mattucci and the Lockside team.

House Checking service for snowbirds

Sylvia Comley’s new business is called House Check, and as the name suggests, Sylvia will check your house! If you are a snowbird heading south, if you own a cottage, even if you are heading off for a week in the sun, Sylvia will water the plants and feed the cat. Services include checks at specific intervals, where she goes over a detailed checklist. You get a detailed report upon your return, complete with photographs of anything out of the ordinary. Musical Moppet Mornings for children and parents

Karen and Fiona Karen Woolley runs an ongoing weekly playgroup, with a focus on literacy and musical foundation for children and their parents. Called Musical Moppet Mornings they run Mondays in Lakefield and Wednesdays in Ennismore, with plans to start a Peterborough morning this Fall. Karen has just launched a new CD with a collection of songs and rhymes from her morning playgroup. Called Music For Moppets, the CD has all kinds of music and activities that parents can enjoy with their little moppets. If you want to check out the playgroup stop in to the Ennismore session this Wednesday morning and Karen will wave the $10 fee.
