We have a new owners theme for you this week, with four companies experience new ownership in the area.

38 Degrees

38 Degrees located at 375 Water Street is now under the ownership of Scott Anderson. 38 Degrees will continue to focus on fresh cuisine. Scott plans to bring in lighter fare from local and organic suppliers as part of a commitment to support the "Kawartha Farm-fresh" initiative. Basket Creations

Jennifer Wight recently purchased Basket Creations from previous owner Jocelyn Johnston. Basket Creations is celebrating its 20th year in business in Peterborough. For more information call (705) 749-3332.

Restwell Upholstery

Randy and Kerri Rogers have purchased Restwell Upholstery from Bob Peltz. Restwell has been operating since 1945, and the same staff, including Bob, will continue to provide upholstering, slip covers, wood finishing, fabrics, vinyls and foam. The Spaghetti House

The Spaghetti House also has a new owner. Paul Moyes plans to keep the old favourites and add specialty lunches, a take-out service, delivery and catering for groups from 25 to 40 people. Mark Kozak-Holland speaking at Fleming College

Renowned business consultant and author Mark Kozak-Holland will visit Peterborough this Friday (April 11) to speak to Fleming College students in the post-graduate Global Supply Chain Management program. The presentation will focus on how British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Canadian Lord Beaverbrook jump-started production of RAF aircraft in the wake of an invasion threat from Germany during World War II. This historical analysis is done through a modern business lens, describing Beaverbrook's actions and strategy using modern business tools and techniques. The presentation is free and open to the public. It will take place in room 374 of the Sutherland Campus, 599 Brealey Dr. in Peterborough at 10:30 a.m. to noon on February 7.
