New Noodle Shop and Bubble Tea Cafe on Hunter Street

The Newdle Box and Bubble Tea Company is a funky new 15-seater restaurant at 213 Hunter Street West. Owned by James and Joanne Jackson and Cheryl Badham and Dave Edwards-Evans, the Newdle Box takes the best Thai, Vietnamese, Szechwan and Singapore dishes and mainstreams them. Everything is served in a traditional oriental noodle box. Bubble Tea comes to us out of Thailand, you can get Regular, Green, and Iced Tea, Slushies or Smoothies, each in 12 different flavours. If you’re a tea lover with a calculator, you’ll know that’s a lot of choices! The Newdle Box and Bubble Tea Company is open 7 days a week, Sunday - Wednesday 11:30 am - 8:00 pm, Thursday - Saturday 11:30 am - 10:00 pm. They also do take-out and delivery. Call (705) 740-0707.

New Golf Course

Bellmere Golf Course

Bellmere Winds is a fantastic new 7000 yard 18-hole golf course with a breath taking view of Rice Lake. The first 9 holes and driving range just opened last weekend, with the full 18-hole course opening soon. The owners are Grace, Frank, Jack and Linda Godfrey. The Godfrey family has operated Godfreys Resort on the same property since 1929. It looks like they’ve done it up right so make sure you get out and play a round this summer. Queens Crown Antiques Makes a Come Back

Queens Crown Antiques is back in businesses, located on the lower level of the Harness Factory Building at 201 George Street. Many people will remember that the business was particularly hard hit during the flood two years ago, however they’re back in the same location - to boldly go where they’ve been before! Manager Paul Bunn has been busy shopping overseas, and the initial offering is entirely French! Chandeliers, armoires, tables, chests, beds and carpets, all French treasures of the traditional Queens Crown quality. They’re open Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 - 5 or by appointment. Chamber Event Promotes Local Food

100 Mile Meal

And don’t forget the Chamber of Commerce Kawartha Choice Committee presents "The 100 Mile Meal" June 8th at the Holiday Inn. All food and drink served will be from within 100 miles and you’ll be supporting Kawartha Choice, which supports some very important business people in the area, farmers.
