The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international
non-profit educational organization devoted to the study of the Middle
Ages and the Renaissance. It is part of the "living history" movement,
which means that members try to reproduce various aspects of the culture
and technology of their period, as well as doing more traditional
historical research.
Peterborough's Society for Creative Anachronism group (called Petrea
Thule) meets twice monthly for talks and hands-on workshops. Everyone is
welcome to attend, only an interest in the period is essential. Meetings
are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Wallis Hall
Room 128, Traill College, Trent University. Some of our recent workshops
and talks have including Brass Rubbings, Heraldry, and Pottery Making.
